Initiating Digital Transformation to Establish Standard Carbon Inventory Workflows for Construction
To address the demand for efficiency and consistency in greenhouse gas inventory operations, Dehwa Construction launched an internal digital transformation in 2024, successfully developing its proprietary “Carbon Management System.” Currently deployed across seven project sites, the system supports cross-site collaboration for over 20 users and has compiled more than 700 report documents, significantly improving carbon data reporting quality and management efficiency.
In-House R&D Leveraging a Flexible Technical Architecture
Spearheaded by Dehwa Construction’s internal IT team, the system utilizes the MEVN stack (MongoDB, ExpressJS, VueJS, NodeJS) and is deployed on an enterprise internal Windows Server environment, effectively ensuring data security and system maintenance flexibility. Designed around practical site requirements, core modules include site data template creation, field-level permission control, PDF evidence uploads, data querying, and report exporting—completely replacing past manual cross-referencing and compilation workflows.
Field Application Results Supporting Multi-Site Data Integration
As of May 2025, Dehwa’s Carbon Management System has been applied across its headquarters and six major construction projects, including Lihwa 天母常玉 and 文与堂, 統創曜 by Partner Tong Chuang Construction, Grace Tower for EMG Group, and the 承德大樓北基地 project for Fubon Life Insurance. Having collected over 3,400 carbon emission supporting documents, the system served as the primary tool for 2024 carbon inventory operations, establishing a replicable and scalable standardized carbon management workflow.
Positive Frontline Feedback Boosts Efficiency and Accuracy
Frontline users shared: “Previously, reporting via manual spreadsheets meant every project site had a different format, making consolidation time-consuming and prone to errors. With this system, every site uses a consistent format. This not only improves accuracy and speeds up reporting, but also allows us to focus more effort on data analysis and improvement proposals.”
Continuous UI Optimization Toward an Integrated Sustainability Information Platform
Dehwa Construction stated: “Through pragmatic design, we are gradually accumulating reusable templates and data logic. This enhances data consistency while reducing the administrative burden on site personnel. Moving forward, we will continue optimizing the visual interface and evaluate data integration mechanisms with third-party verification bodies as we advance toward a comprehensive sustainability information management platform.”
